About
Welcome to Collective Goods, a charming French bistro nestled in the heart of Vancouver at 3532 Commercial St. With a reputation for presenting dishes that are not only delightful to the palate but also visually stunning, this eatery has carved out a niche for itself among food enthusiasts.
As I stepped through the doors of Collective Goods, I was immediately enveloped by a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly balances a relaxed vibe with the sophistication one expects from French cuisine. The deco exudes a chic yet cozy charm, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.
The menu is a gastronomic journey, with standout dishes like the Steak Frites at CA$48, tantalizing Halibut for CA$44, and a luxurious Duck dish priced at CA$46. For those craving something unique, the Bistro Burger at CA$29 showcases the chef's playful twist on classic comfort food. Each dish is crafted with fresh ingredients, showcasing the culinary creativity that has impressed many guests, including Pandora Young, who raved about the generous portions and beautiful presentation of their tasting menu.
But it isn’t just the food that shines at Collective Goods; the service is equally noteworthy. Many patrons, like Norman Farrell and Saad Dulaimi, have praised the knowledgeable and attentive staff, making every visit feel special. It’s clear that the commitment to hospitality complements the exquisite menu, inviting guests to savor every moment of their dining experience.
Desserts like the rich Chocolate Tart and the airy Iles Flottantes, both priced at just CA$12, are not to be missed. Even if you've overindulged in the savory courses, these sweet finales beckon with their promise of indulgence and delight. My personal recommendation? Don't skip the Bourride for a truly authentic taste of French culinary excellence.

Whether you're sharing a multi-course meal with friends or enjoying a quiet dinner, each visit promises excellent vibes paired with extraordinary flavors. “ Good food. Excellent vibes and service. I had their tasting menu. Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious! Generous portions too. I was too full to have my dessert and have to take away. Will definitely come back again. ”
“ Multi course tasting menu for four, served family style. Creative, with many fresh ingredients used, French-ish, and delicious. Service was friendly, informative, and attentive. Dining here was an unusual experience, very much worth repeating. Collective Goods, like the owners’ two other restaurants, does dinner differently, and very well. ”
“ A gem of a French bistro in town! Cute decor, wonderful food, excellent service - you simply can't go wrong! 100% will return! ”
“ Really really lovely spot for french food in a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. Went in on a Wednesday for the set menu special and it was definitely great value! The chicken liver mousse, bourride, and steak frites were standouts and the service was attentive and warm. I’m a big fan of the Mackenzie room and say mercy and am looking forward to coming back here soon! ”
“ The food at Collective Goods was absolutely amazing, and the service from our server was exceptional – truly one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. However, when we called to inform them we’d be 10 minutes late, the person on the phone mentioned that our 1.5-hour seating would start from our original reservation time, which felt a bit unwelcoming as most restaurants offer a grace period. Despite that, the incredible food and outstanding service made up for it. Highly recommend dining here! ”
“ We received a gift card for Collective Goods Bistro & Grocer for Christmas and finally used it 8 months later! It's our first time dining at this restaurant. Driving to the restaurant we passed it but I said to my hubby, "Oh I see the restaurant to our left, it's so cute and it's yellow!" Entering the restaurant, first impression: it's cozy and welcoming like a warm hug! We didn't order the Thursday 50 tasting menu as we weren't too hungry but we will try it next time. The Chicken Live mousse must have as it was so smooth and delicious with port wine gelee and Saskatoon berry compote. The Salmon Meunier is similar to ceviche with every bite with fried caper berries and candied black pepper lemon was delightful and fresh. You cannot go wrong with Duck with farro, squash, fig, orange mostardo with red wine jus. Chef kiss! The service was excellent and great for a date or getting together with friends. They did give us the wrong receipt to pay which is why I am giving this 4.5/5 stars. ”
“ Went here for dinner last night and had a really good experience. I wish I could remember our severs name, we were sitting by the window and the entry door at a two top table. Our server was perfectly attentive, he was there when we needed but didn’t overcrowd the experience. He also had some really good recommendations which made our experience all the better. The food runner was also really kind and described each dish with care. The food was really good too, we especially liked the beets dish and the chicory salad, but honestly every dish was really tasty! My bf is a chef and usually hard to please, but we both loved it and will definitely be back! Thank you. ”
“ Had a great girls night out at Collective Goods. We took advantage of the 50 pp tasting menu and each ordered a drink. The food was perfect, fresh and delicious. The service was excellent, staff was friendly and had great drink suggestions. The ambience was very inviting. Will definitely be back. ”
